Archer Humphryes has been appointed to deliver the architecture, interior design, bespoke items and furniture design, and overall brand alignment for Delano London, marking the first global expansion of the Delano hotel brand.

Developed by Ennismore and scheduled to open in 2026, Delano London brings the brand to the UK for the first time, positioning London as the starting point for Delano’s next international chapter. Located close to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, the boutique-scale hotel will comprise approximately 67 rooms and suites, alongside a lobby lounge, restaurant, wellness facilities and the London debut of Rose Bar, one of Delano’s most recognisable social concepts.

Delano occupies a singular place in the history of lifestyle hospitality. When Delano Miami first opened in the mid-1990s, it was described as the “first urban resort,” redefining how hotels could operate as cultural and social destinations rather than simply places to stay. That original project, led by Ian Schrager with interiors by Philippe Starck, established a new design language based on atmosphere, restraint and social theatre—principles that continue to inform the brand today.

For Archer Humphryes, the London project represents a full-circle moment. Founders David Archer and Julie Humphryes both worked extensively with Ian Schrager and Philippe Starck earlier in their careers and were involved during the period when Delano Miami set a new benchmark for hospitality design. That experience has informed the studio’s approach to Delano London, bringing an understanding not only of the brand’s visual identity, but of the cultural conditions that originally shaped it.Rather than replicating earlier Delano properties, Archer Humphryes has approached the London project as a careful reinterpretation, translating Delano’s DNA into a contemporary, globally relevant context. The architecture and interiors are conceived as refined and residential, responding to both the scale of the building and the expectations of a London audience. Emphasis is placed on proportion, materiality and atmosphere, with spaces designed to feel confident and composed rather than overtly expressive.

The studio’s role extends beyond interior design to encompass the full architectural and experiential vision of the hotel, including bespoke furniture and custom-designed elements throughout. These pieces are integral to how the brand is expressed, reinforcing Delano’s identity through craftsmanship, tactility and longevity rather than applied branding. Materialshave been selected for their ability to age well, supporting a sense of permanence and authenticity.

A key component of the project is Rose Bar London, developed in collaboration with Paris Society, a specialist F&B operator with a significant international reputation for creating high-profile hospitality and nightlife destinations. Founded by Antoine Arnault, Paris Society is known for shaping culturally influential venues across Europe and the Middle East, with a portfolio that spans restaurants, clubs and destination bars defined by strong identity and operational depth.

Located in a subterranean setting, Rose Bar London is designed as an intimate late-night space defined by contrast—between light and dark, openness and enclosure. The design supports both energy and discretion, aligning with Delano’s long-standing reputation for social spaces that feel effortless rather than performative. Paris Society’s involvement reinforces the ambition for Rose Bar London to operate as a destination in its own rightwithin London’s nightlife landscape.

Across the project, Archer Humphryes is also acting as brand custodian, ensuring that Delano’s identity is consistently expressed through spatial sequencing, material choices and the relationship between public and private areas. This holistic approach establishes a clear design framework for Delano’s future global growth, with London acting as a reference point for subsequent projects.

As Delano prepares to re-enter the global stage, the London hotel represents a measured and confident first step—one that builds on the brand’s legacy while setting a disciplined and contemporary direction for its future. For Archer Humphryes, the project reflects a long-standing engagement with the origins of lifestyle hospitality, reinterpreted through experience, restraint and cultural continuity.
